CHICWISH wrap dress | ZARA white sandals
This star sequin wrap dress is hands down one of the prettiest dresses I've ever owned. It's so easy to dress up with some pretty hair accessories and sparkly heels. It would also be super cute to wear with some distressed sneakers for a nice contrast. I decided to style it with white kitten heel sandals, a plain gold chain, a gold headband, and I added some loose waves to my hair to complete the look.
Would you guys like to see me style some more Chicwish pieces?
Find your seller. You should always check the seller information and their feedback score. You can see how many positive, neutral, and negative reviews they've had and you can read through them too so you can see what to expect from the seller. I would recommend to only purchase from sellers that have a high amount of reviews and a high positive feedback percentage (99% or better). You can also do this by going onto forums/ youtube and seeing where others have purchased from. When I first started looking for reputable sellers I wish I could've just found a list so that I could just browse through their shops. So that's what I did for you guys, in alphabetical order: atlantis-tokyo, authenticbrandshopkasei, best-lifejapan, biltmoreluxurydirect, boom2hanten, brandworks, brand_jfa, brandoff, brandstreet.tokyo, elady01, japan_monoshare, komehyo, kurotoa, kyounokura-japan, linda*s***stuff
There are many more sellers out there but thee are some I've come across that have mostly good reviews. I'm always looking for new sellers so if you have a good seller you'd like to share with me, leave a comment or send me an email.
Most of these sellers are from Japan and initially I was worried but after researching, Japan seems to have very strict laws on counterfeit goods so more than likely what you buy will be authentic. I also love that most of the Japanese sellers offer free shipping and I got my stuff in less than a week which was such a nice surprise to me! I also love that their items are priced very well and described accurately.
Review the listing CLOSELY! I cannot stress this enough. Make sure to look at every single picture in full-screen mode and even better if you can look at it on your laptop or desktop computer since it's a bigger screen than a smartphone so you'll be able to see details better. Check corners, zippers, hardware, straps, interior, etc. Then read the description of the listing very closely. I've noticed that a lot of Japanese sellers are very good at describing the condition of the item and sometimes they use a rating system.
- Take notice if they mention any odors. A lot of vintage pieces will have a closet odor, for some people that's a deal breaker so make sure to pay attention to that. If they don't list the smell you can always ask them. All 3 of the items I've bought from eBay have had a closet odor but can easily be taken care of with dryer sheets or some perfume. I washed my prada tessuto nylon backpack in a lingerie bag on gentle since it's made of nylon and had no leather parts and it came out just fine.
- Take notice if the zipper works properly, if it comes with all the straps/accessories/authenticity card/dust bag, etc, or if they mention any major flaws like cracks or tears.
- If being able to return an item is important to you double check the return policy.
- Search google for tips on authenticating the particular brand and style of bag you're shopping for and use those tips while looking at the photos on the listing.
Pay with Paypal. Even after you inspected the photos and listing I highly recommend paying with Paypal or a credit card in case any issues arise with the authenticity of your product and you have to file a claim. I've heard that it's way easier and quicker to deal with PayPal and credit card companies instead of your bank.
Try out auctions. Initially, I was only looking for buy it now listings because I figured I could never win an auction but it's not as hard as I thought and I love the thrill of seeing if I win lol. I've noticed that some of the best deals come from auction-style listings. A lot of the sellers that do auctions will start them at 99 cents and if there are not many interested bidders than you can actually get an amazing deal.
- I recommend watching the item that you want and keep a close eye on it. You don't want really start bidding on it until there are a few minutes left. Once there are only a few minutes left on the listing you should set a maximum that you're willing to pay on that item. This is so important because it's SO easy to get carried away when you're bidding. Once it goes down to a minute I will watch it and when it gets to around 5 seconds I will put in my max bid. That leaves only a couple seconds for other bidders to increase their bids. And this is exactly how I got the 3 items I've purchased.
- If you do want to try winning auctions get the eBay app because it will send all sorts of reminders to your phone.
Customs fees. On almost all of the listings, you'll notice the seller mention that they are not responsible for customs fees. I didn't get charged any customs fees on my orders so I'm not sure how this works but it's something to be aware of.
Those are all the major tips I can think of now. Feel free to leave me any questions in the comments below. For the rest of the post, I'm going to be sharing my experience and the items I bought.
I saved the best for last! I got my hands on a white multicolor pochette accessoires from the Takashi Murakami x LV collab. It is so freaking stunning!! I got this one from winning an auction and ended up getting it for such an amazing price (under $300). It does have a bit of staining on the leather, color transfer on the canvas, wear on the hardware, and storage odor but I don't care because it's gorgeous! I'll also be ordering a chain strap for this one so I can wear it crossbody/on my shoulder. Here are a couple currently listed on eBay: one & two
I bought all my pieces from this eBay seller and have had a pleasant experience each time. Each piece is shipped very quickly and arrived in less than a week. None of my pieces came with dust bags but came wrapped in clear plastic bags sealed with cute pink tape.
What did you guys think? Have you bought any preloved designer items from eBay before?
Pearls are everywhere at the moment. I've seen them on hair accessories like those big hair clips every instagram girl is wearing and knotted headbands, to those white pearl bags, or just even a string of them around the neck. If you need some stunning inspo, just google 'chanel ss19 runway'. There's something so girly and classic about them but I'm loving all the reinvented ways that I've been seeing them lately. To add some pearls to my wardrobe I found this sweetheart blouse studded with pearls and feathery details. It's absolutely beautiful! I wore it with square toe kitten heel sandals and distressed jeans. You can check out more pearl adorned clothing here. I especially love these pearl shorts - they are so beautiful and under $50! I will probably be ordering those next.
Thank you for reading! xx
Also, do yourself a favor and size up 1 full size in these. They definitely run SMALL. I ordered my usual 6 the first time and they were so tight I could barely fit my foot inside and much less walk in them. I exchanged them for a 6.5 and they fit so much better but still snug. I decided to keep them because I'm impatient (had lots of outfits planned with these babies) and I figured they would stretch out with wear. They fit fine now but I know a 7 would've been ideal.
Anyway, I think what makes them so comfy is how chunky they are. Another thing to note with these is that if you wear the little no show socks, they will most likely do that annoying thing where they fall off the back of your foot. My friend got a pair recently and she was asking me what kind of socks I wear because she can't seem to get any to stay up on her foot lol... the struggle is so real. I think you either have to find an amazing pair of no show socks (if you know of any, please let me know! lol) or you could wear socks that hit above your ankle because I'm really loving that look right now. Or just wear no socks if you're into that.
If you're feeling a little more spendy and want another amazing chunky sneaker option, I adore the Balenciaga triple s sneakers! I hear nothing but great things about those and I would love to buy them, maybe eventually...
The weather is warming up so I traded in my jeans for a denim mini skirt. I saw this skirt on Chicwish and I knew I had to have it. It's a light wash that pairs so well with pastels and fun spring colors. It buttons down the front to make it a little more interesting than your typical denim skirt. It also has two front faux pockets - it would've been so cool if they worked... but then again what would I even put in them anyway. It has a raw hem all the way around with some distressing on the front. The material is soft yet sturdy denim but it has no stretch to it. I'm wearing it in size XS. I paired it with my pink gingham babydoll tank from Lulus and chunky fila dad sneakers.
Give me all the pretty pink florals. I'm not a huge floral print girl but make it pink and I'll take it. I love the puffy sleeves and how it's tiered - it makes it so flowy and girly. I wore it with some ripped loose denim and to keep things fun and girly I added a floral headband and platform sandals. Also, how perfect is the blue wall we found for this shoot?! All thanks to Juan! 🗢
As far as sizing goes, I'm wearing an xs/s and it fits well. This fabric doesn't have much stretch though so if you want a more roomy fit then size up!

It's the perfect time to stock up on your makeup and skincare favorites just in time for summer! I gathered up a list of my top 10 must haves in case you need some new products to try. Let me know if there's any products I should try too!
MAKEUP
Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation // This is the foundation I use every time I wear foundation. It comes in tons of shades so you're bound to find one that matches you perfectly. I wear 2WO (warm olive) and it matches me so well. It's very lightweight that I barely feel it on my skin, it's buildable coverage, and looks good all day. It also comes in a squeeze bottle so it's easy to get the foundation out. I'm hooked on this right now and don't see myself changing anytime soon.
Laura Mercier Glow Powder Setting Powder ( I use it with the Laura Mercier Glow Powder Brush) // I'm pretty sure I've talked about this powder before but just in case you missed it, I'll tell you again. This will make you G L O W! I fluff this onto all the high points of my face for a natural glowy look and if I want it more intense then I will go over the spots with my laura mercier highlighter. Don't forget to set it with some spray!!
Lancome Cils Booster XL // I got eyelash extensions at the beginning of the year because I felt like everyone had them and I needed to see what all the hype was about. While I loved some things about extensions (I would get them again) there were also some not so great things about it. Like what it did to my eyelashes. When all my extensions fell off they were a little stubbier. My theory is that the weight of the eyelash extensions makes your natural lashes fall off sooner, while new lashes are also growing in, making your lashes appear shorter. I'm probably totally off but whatever back to this eyelash primer... It's really good and I love that it makes my eyelashes appear longer and thicker.
Buxom Full-On Plumping Lip Cream // I'm a lipgloss girl, always have been and always will be. These buxom glosses are some of my favorite because they're more creamy than they are sticky and they also have lip plumping properties and feel cooling on my lips. The shade 'mudslide' is my go-to.
HAIR
T3 SinglePass 1.25" Curling Iron // I've tried many different curling irons and this has been my favorite one so far. I even bought a babylisspro curling iron last month because I was convinced by the amazing reviews that it would be just as good but obviously way cheaper. Don't get me wrong, the babylisspro is good - it makes beautiful loose curls (which I love), has many heat settings but it really let me down on curl longevity. The T3, on the other hand, has multiple heat settings, heats up very quickly, looks beautiful on my countertop, doesn't feel cheaply made, glides through my hair and most importantly my curls last! 100% worth the money and even better if you can get it on sale!
Ouai Memory Mist // This baby is a multitasker! This mist protects my hair from the damaging heat of my curling iron and helps hold my curls longer. It also smells amazing too, like everything from Ouai!
SKINCARE
Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen // I only recently got into wearing sunscreen on my face. I always knew that I should be wearing it to prevent premature aging but the thought of having to try several to find one that worked for me was very off-putting. I didn't have to do too much searching because Supergoop sent it to me a few months ago and I'm proud to say that I've used it just about every day! This is one of the best sunscreens I've EVER tried. Seriously. It feels so lightweight I can barely tell I'm wearing anything. It also makes my skin feel smoother and makes a great base for foundation. If you need a new sunscreen look no further!
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cannabis & Oat Dry Oil // I've been using this since it launched in February and it's been amazing for my skin. I stopped using my old favorite moisturizer (clinique) and completely replaced it for this oil. I have combination skin and this works well on the dry patches that I get on my face. I use it morning and night and still have around 3/4 of the oil left, so it lasts a long time.
Caudalie Brightening Glycolic Night Cream // This night cream is very creamy and thick and is so good for getting rid of dark spots! After I've applied my essence and oil I slather this cream on so it can work its magic while I sleep. After trying this and the essence I really want to try more from Caudalie! If you have any recommendations please comment and let me know.
Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray // This is one of those products that I feel everyone loves and took me so long to try out. I've been using it as a makeup setting spray for the last few months and I love the way it makes my skin glow. It's also really good to mist on after a workout (tip: keep it in the fridge for a more refreshing + cooling feeling).
