How do you like my new sneakers?
In my previous post, here, I wore my newest discovery: A super soft v-neck top that is long enough to wear with my favorite leggings or any pair of jeans. It's such a versatile shirt, I can wear it to lounge around at home or dress it up with some accessories. I thought the material was interesting too! It's made of 95% bamboo and 5% spandex, so it has a really nice drape and the bamboo makes it very breathable. I bought it on sale and I loved it so much that I went back the very next morning for another one in olive.
I'm trying to invest in more basic, higher quality pieces and slowly build my wardrobe that way and I think these are a great addition. What do you think? Do you have any fall staple clothing items?

The weather was great today, it was the perfect fall weather: chilly and lots of sunshine! I did some shopping early in the morning for a few basics, then later on I went to watch The Martian. After that I took these pictures and relaxed at home trying not to think about homework.....I'll leave that for Sunday.
Now about my outfit: I wore my new cream tunic paired with leggings -a great combination for a movie date! I stayed warm with a big scarf and my parka on top. For shoes, I went with my snake print flats because they added a girlier touch. How do you like my outfit?

I woke up today to a very rainy and gloomy day and I want to stay in bed all day but, unfortunately, I have loads of homework and a messy room that needs to be cleaned. To cheer my mood up, I'm listening to my October playlist and reminding myself that I have two days free from class next week!
Oh yeah, and here are a few things that make me look forward to and be happy about the cooler months ahead.
1. Deep red nails. I love red nails year-round but darker + plum tones are perfect for cold weather!
2. Obviously, taking pictures of leaves.... I'm clearly obsessed :)
3. Keeping my neck warm in my favorite scarves and collecting new ones, of course! (I have my eye on a few from Target)
4. Favorite jacket with faux fur hood.
5. Super moisturizing creams. Even better if it smells amazing so it can uplift your mood :)
6. Eucalyptus essential oil is perfect for winter! It works wonders on those days when you feel like you're catching a cold or have a stuffy nose.
7. Reading more. I think that's what rainy days were made for anyways, right?
Looks like the flu season has begun. I've been in my bed almost all day bundled up in my blankets and drinking lots of liquids (cayenne drink, water, and kombucha). Next I will take a steamy hot shower, make soup, and get warm and cozy up in my bed again. I'm crossing my fingers that tomorrow I feel better since I have to leave my house to go to my classes.
If any of you have the flu too I recommend trying a cayenne drink, it's supposed to boost your immune system and help you feel better sooner. A few of the ingredients commonly used are cayenne powder, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, lemon, apple cider vinegar, and manuka honey. You can customize it to your liking.
I used:
about a cup of warm/hot water
1 tsp-1tbsp of manuka honey
1-2 capfuls of apple cider vinegar
a tiny pinch of cayenne powder
